Historical Heart Pine Floors Restored
Early in 2016, the Atkinson County Board of Education administration building in Pearson, GA sustained considerable fire damage. Originally, it was a school building that was built in the 1940s and many of the townspeople attended school in that building. So, keeping the historical value in tact was essential. The challenge was finding someone with knowledge pertaining to its Heart Pine floors.
The restoration company who was hired to do the work found that talent at Arnold Flooring, formerly Carpets by Dennis. Arnold Flooring supplied/installed 665 square feet of Heart Pine floors and refinished 1135 square feet in the hallways. They supplied/installed 545 yards of carpet in classrooms that had been converted into offices and also supplied/installed 1140 feet of trim.
This building, its historical integrity intact, remains an integral part of the Atkinson County school system and is located at 98 E Roberts Avenue in Pearson, GA.
